A native of Chicago, Toneal M. Jackson was born April 12, 1980. She graduated Valedictorian from Fenger Academy in 1997. Toneal received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication with a Spanish minor from DePaul University in June 2001. That December, she married her best friend, Jerome. In November 2002, Toneal gave birth to her first daughter, Autumn. In December 2004, the couple welcomed another daughter, Areana. January 2006, she birthed yet another daughter, Angele; a final daughter, Jeriah was born October 2008.
In 2009, Toneal returned to the academic stage in pursuit of her Masters degree in Business Administration, which she received from the University of Phoenix in 2011. Throughout this course of time, Toneal wrote her first book, Pleasing Your Partner: A Spiritual Guide to H.A.P.P.I.N.E.S.S., a title where she was able to employ her own marital experiences to draw wisdom and content. She ranked #3 as National Black Book Festival’s 2011 Best New Author.
Her daughters served as inspiration in her children’s titles, Four Girls: A Lot of Choices, and Four Girls Learn Their Colors.
Since 2011, Toneal has written ten books – two of which are award-winning; founded a literary organization, Authors Promoting Success; established her own imprint, APS Publishing; started APS Writers Society, a group that teaches what it takes to become a successful authorpreneur; opened a bookstore, APS Books & More; and created APS Book Awards – “THE Book Awards for Self-Published Authors”. She will soon launch APS Radio, the station “Always Playing Something” to educate, empower and entertain!
