Established by Toneal M. Jackson, APS Books & More first opened its doors on May 1, 2015 inside of Chicago’s Ford City Mall. Contrary to Books A Million and Barnes and Noble, APS Books & More specializes in showcasing the works of independent authors across the globe. Excluding erotica, and street lit (along with any other materials excessively vulgar or profane), this bookstore features a plethora of genres enjoyed by readers of all ages and races.

Offering services such as author and entrepreneur consignments; book signings; seminars and workshops; story time; language lessons (Spanish/English)…and more, this unique book boutique provides its patrons with a bookstore experience unlike any other.

CALENDAR OF EVENTS

(STARTS THE WEEK OF JUNE 5TH)

Motivational Monday (6:30 – 7:30pm) – Learn about the 4 Ps of Life (Purpose/Passion/Partnership/Parenthood) every week with International Award-Winning Author, Toneal M. Jackson. SESSIONS ARE FREE

Author Talk Tuesday (6:30 – 7:30pm) – Authors will read excerpts from their books and engage in audience interaction.

Workshop Wednesday – Different topics will be presented from various facilitators.

Teaching Thursday – Learn how to speak Spanish (5:30 – 6:30pm) or English (6:30 – 7:30pm) SESSIONS ARE $20 EACH

Fun Day Friday (5:00 – 7:00pm) – Bring the family and have fun playing games solving puzzles. FREE

Story Time & Book Signing Saturday – Bring your children out from 10:30 – 11am to have their favorite stories read aloud and discussed.

AUTHOR CONSIGNMENTS

If you’re an independent author looking to have your book displayed inside of the bookstore, choose from one of the following options:

1) Pay $50 for 30 days of wall space and receive 50% commission.

2) Pay $60 for 30 days of wall space and receive 60% commission

3) Pay $75 for 30 days of wall space and receive a free 2-hr book signing with 50% commission

If you have multiple books and/or would like to display your book for multiple months, there are discounts for those options as well. All packages allow you to send business cards and promo materials for distribution.

APS Books & More is Home to the Independent Author, so we are here to showcase your work. Yes, there is a monthly fee, but it’s because we provide a monthly service. We are open 7 days a week with a dedicated staff devoted to selling your books. Of course, as with any other Expo, sales are not guaranteed, but we can definitely provide you with exposure!

Materials must be received by the last day of the month as new titles are displayed on the 1st of the month. Payments are made no later than the 7th of the following month (after consignment ends). You will be tagged via social media with pictures of your books on display.

ENTREPRENEUR CONSIGNMENTS

If you are an entrepreneur looking to have your merchandise displayed in the bookstore, choose from one of the following monthly (30 days) options:

1) Pay $10 to have your business cards distributed from the bookstore.

2) Pay $25 to become an online affiliate and have your business promoted on our website.

3) Pay $50 to have your product displayed on a 20 inch round table and receive 50% commission

4) Pay $75 to have your merchandise displayed on a 3-ft table and receive 75% commission

5) Pay $150 to have your merchandise displayed on a 6-ft table and receive 100% commission

Want the opportunity to sell the merchandise yourself? Just add $50 to options 3-5. 

Materials must be received by the last day of the month to be displayed on the 1st of the following month. Commissions (if applicable) will be paid no later than the 7th of the following month (after consignment ends). There are no guarantee of sales. You must provide your own tablecloth. Any signage that cannot fit on the table is an additional fee to display.
