Although she doesn’t do it for the accolades, Toneal has met many people and garnered much success along her literary journey. Some of her accomplishments include:
Ranking #3 as the National Black Book Festival’s Best New Author in 2011.
Being a seminar speaker for the Ultimate Women’s Expo in Dallas, TX in 2011.
Being honored by Chicago’s Children Museum in Navy Pier during their African-American Heritage month in 2012.
Gaining recognition from CBS Chicago as one of “5 Indie Chicago Authors and Publishers to Watch Out For” in 2012.
Appearing as a guest on The Exchange TV Show in Kansas in 2013.
Receiving the Silver Medal in the Readers’ Favorite International Book Awards in 2013.
Hosting the Literary Cafe at the Black Women’s Expo in 2015.
Acquiring recognition as being one of “18 Most Powerful Women on the South Side” [of Chicago] in 2015.
Becoming a certified Zumba instructor in 2016.
Being inducted into the 40 Under 40 Young Women Professionals League in 2016.
Above all of this, Toneal considers her greatest achievements as being a successful wife and mother.
She proudly states, “The other accomplishments mean nothing without my husband and my girls. Everything I do, I do for them”!
